Learn how to make a chainmail bracelet!
Need to get away for a peaceful activity? Join us to learn a new skill in meditative chainmail. Jon, a local artist, will be leading a class in the making of a European 4-in-1 bracelet, all supplies provided. He finds this experience to be calming in its repetitiveness, much like knitting or crocheting. Bring a family member or loved one for a learning experience in a chill atmosphere.
The introduction project will be a bracelet made from anodized aluminum. Its light-weight and beautiful shine is certain to dazzle. The 1/4" ID, 16 gauge rings are easy to work into the European 4-in-1 design. All materials are provided and available for purchase upon class end if the project is incomplete. The only requirements for this class are to be able to grip pliers and be willing to learn! Offered Sunday April 13th, 1-3 pm, $35.
Jon Hobus is a born and raised Athenian who has been surrounded by the arts all his life, and recently has had the ability to create his own sculptures. He's been blacksmithing on and off for about 8 years, and practicing chainmail for 4 years. Jon has taken his creations to several craft fairs, including AthFest, Bishop Boogie, and the OCAF Holiday Market, and has plans to do demonstrations at the Watkinsville Farmer's Market. Jon looks forward to the future of his maker lifestyle as he opens his own business, Hammer of Hobus.
